
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Toan

Chairman & CEO
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Toan is the Co-founder, Chairman of the Board, and CEO of EQuest Education Group. With extensive experience in finance, education, and educational technology, he has founded and led numerous ventures across financial investment, education, and EdTech.
A visionary and dedicated leader, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Toan is committed to the comprehensive reform of Vietnam’s education system, viewing it as a critical pathway to enhancing national competitiveness.
He holds a PhD in Economics from New York University (USA), a Master’s degree in Economics from the National Economics University (Vietnam), and a Bachelor’s degree in Business from Edith Cowan University (Australia).

Mr. George Aitken
Board Member
Mr. George Aitken is a member of the Board of EQuest and represents global investment firm KKR, a strategic shareholder of the Group.
He joined KKR in 2014 and currently leads the Global Impact platform for the Asia-Pacific region. In this role, he has helped shape several high-impact investments, including those in MYOB, GreenCollar, Education Perfect, EQuest, and BBP.
Prior to KKR, he worked at a private family office, where he managed strategic investments in agriculture, carbon markets, technology, natural resources, and infrastructure.
Mr. George Aitken holds dual degrees in Business and Law (with Honors) from the University of Technology Sydney (Australia), and a Master’s degree in Applied Finance from Kaplan Professional.

Mr. Ivan Kwong
Board Member
Mr. Ivan Kwong serves on the Board of EQuest as a representative of KKR, a strategic global investor in the Group.
He joined KKR in 2017 and currently oversees the Global Impact platform from the firm’s Singapore office. He also serves as a Director at Education Perfect, Acting Director at GreenCollar, and is involved in KKR’s investments in BBP, PropertyGuru, First Gen Corporation, and 800 Super. Before joining KKR, he held roles at UBS and Bain & Company in both Sydney and Singapore.
Mr. Ivan Kwong earned dual degrees in Aerospace Engineering and Law (with University Medal) from the University of Sydney (Australia), and holds an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania (USA), where he graduated in the top 5% of his class as a Palmer Scholar.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Lan

Chairman & CEO of the Educational Technology Division
Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Lan is a Co-founder of EQuest and currently serves as Chairman & CEO of the Educational Technology Division. With over 20 years of experience in education, she has played a pivotal role in developing and scaling EQuest’s educational technology platforms, which currently serve a large number of learners across Vietnam.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Lan is deeply committed to advancing English as a second language in Vietnam and to expanding access to internationally standardized academic programs for Vietnamese students at an affordable cost.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and a Master’s degree in Economics from the City University of New York (USA). She is fluent in Vietnamese, English, and Chinese.

Mr. Tran Quoc Khanh
Independent Board Member
Mr. Tran Quoc Khanh is a seasoned policymaker in the field of international economic and trade affairs. He formerly served as Vice Minister of Industry and Trade of Vietnam and Chief Negotiator for the Government in international trade negotiations. He currently serves as a Standing Member of the Prime Minister’s Advisory Council on Policy.
With a strong technical foundation and extensive experience in global economic integration, Mr. Tran Quoc Khanh has played a pivotal role in negotiating and implementing Vietnam’s international trade agreements. As an Independent Board Member of EQuest, he brings strategic insight into external economic policy, contributing to the Group’s international collaboration, sustainable growth, and long-term innovation strategy.

Ms. Dam Bich Thuy
Independent Board Member
With 40 years of experience in finance, banking, and education, Ms. Dam Bich Thuy has held senior executive positions across leading domestic and international institutions.
She is the Founding President of Fulbright University Vietnam – the country’s first liberal arts university. Previously, she was the first Vietnamese CEO of ANZ Bank, Country Head of the National Australia Bank (NAB) in Vietnam, and CEO of Vietnam International Bank (VIB).
Ms. Dam Bich Thuy Thuy holds a Bachelor’s degree from Hanoi University (Vietnam) and earned her MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania (USA) under the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Son

Executive Chairman of College & University System
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Son is a Co-founder of EQuest Education Group and of iSMART Education, a member of the Group. He currently serves as Executive Chairman of EQuest’s College & University System.
With over 20 years of experience across IT, finance, and education, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Son has led the Group’s higher education strategy, driving innovation in academic models and applying data science and technology to enhance system-wide competitiveness. He is also known for his ability to build and develop high-potential leadership teams.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Son holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering and Science from the Hanoi University of Science and Technology (Vietnam) and a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the State University of New York (USA), supported by a VEF Fellowship from the Vietnam Education Foundation.

Mr. J. David Armstrong, Jr.
Vice President
Mr. J. David Armstrong, Jr. brings over 35 years of leadership experience in higher education, economic development, and community advancement in the United States.
He is President Emeritus of Broward College (Florida), where he led a decade of transformational growth. Previously, he served as Chancellor of the Florida College System – one of the largest public community college networks in the U.S.
He has served on numerous higher education boards and held leadership positions including Vice President of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance and Leadership Florida, organizations supporting strategic leadership and regional development.
Mr. J. David Armstrong, Jr. holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science from the University of Montevallo (USA) and a Master’s degree in Management from Troy University (USA).

Mr. Dam Quang Minh
Chairman of the K-12 System
Mr. Dam Quang Minh is a specialist in higher education innovation and restructuring, with extensive leadership experience at private universities in Vietnam.
Prior to his current role as Chairman of the K-12 System at EQuest, he served as President of Phu Xuan University, part of EQuest’s College and University Division since 2016. He previously held leadership roles at Thanh Tay University and FPT University, where he was recognized for successfully modernizing academic operations.
Mr. Dam Quang Minh holds a Bachelor’s degree in Natural Sciences (Honors Program – First Cohort) from Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and a Doctorate in Earth Sciences from the University of Greifswald (Germany).

Mr. Truong Hoang Nam
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Truong Hoang Nam is an expert in investment banking, corporate finance, and restructuring, with a strong track record advising and managing large-scale transactions.
Under his leadership, EQuest’s Investment and Restructuring Division has executed deals and projects totaling over USD 400 million.
Prior to joining EQuest, he held a management role at EY Vietnam in the M&A and restructuring advisory team, with cross-sector experience in education and technology.
Mr. Truong Hoang Nam graduated with honors from Florida International University (USA), where he earned dual Bachelor’s degrees in Finance and Economics.
