Green School at Alpha School CGD: Where education and sustainability go hand in hand

One of the greatest challenges in environmental education is not planting more trees or organizing a single environmental awareness event.

It is turning meaningful actions into lifelong habits.

That is why Alpha School CGD (member of EQuest Education Group) embraces the Green School initiative not as a short-term campaign, but as an integral part of everyday school life.

Since its implementation, positive changes have gradually become visible across classrooms. Every class now features a dedicated “Green Corner”, where students care for plants they have nurtured themselves. Students are encouraged to bring reusable water bottles, reduce single-use plastics, sort waste responsibly, keep shared spaces clean, and practice saving electricity and water through simple daily actions.

Yet Alpha School CGD’s vision extends far beyond creating a greener campus.

The school is steadily building a green learning ecosystem where environmental responsibility is cultivated through every aspect of school life – from learning spaces and classroom expectations to curriculum design and hands-on learning experiences. Environmental education is embedded not only in classroom lessons but also in creative activities such as drawing, poster design, presentations, project-based learning, and outdoor experiences that foster meaningful connections with nature.

At Alpha School CGD, Green School does not begin with ambitious slogans. It begins when a student remembers to switch off the lights before leaving the classroom, picks up a piece of litter in the schoolyard, cares for a class plant, or chooses to bring a reusable water bottle every day.

When these small actions are practiced consistently, they become habits. And when an entire school community embraces those habits, a truly sustainable school takes shape.

At Alpha School CGD, building a sustainable learning environment is not only a commitment to protecting our planet today – it is also a way of nurturing responsible global citizens for tomorrow.
